How To Close Siriusxm App On Android
Android 11 update app is cutting out
Siriusxm app has been shaky for Android but now it's unusable. When my screen is off the app cuts out. When I wake up the phone or turn the screen back on it's fine. Noticed this after the update to 11. Anyone else experiencing this or have a workaround?

I was coming here for just this issue. The app keeps shutting off randomly. The other weird thing is that on my Pixel 4, if I minimized the app, there would always be an icon on the top of the screen showing it was running. That's gone now though if I swipe down it shows that the app is running.

I guess we're in the minority I also have a Pixel 3A. I'll contact support and let you know if I find out anything.

I think that's a new android 11 feature. It puts all your media in one place and separates other notifications. It should still show though.

Hey I was having this problem too. I went into settings and changed the audio streaming quality to high and it works fine now.

I was driving to work and 2 days in a row, it shut off while driving. Completely unacceptable and Sirius won't do anything about it. They will just say to restart it or something.

Forgot to mention that I'm on a Pixel 3a XL.

I'm also having the same issues. Thought I was the only one.
I drive a lot for work so I listen to a lot of sirius on my phone. After Android 11 update, the functionality of the Sirius XM app has been buggy. I found the only way for it to play without issues is for the app to be open and to keep the phone from going into rest mode. Works fine that way but still. Hopefully, a solution comes.
Same issue with YouTube Music and Google Play Music.

Okay I contacted Google support and it may be fixed now. I went to the play store and cleared the cache. Then they had me go to the date and time setting. they had me change the date to an incorrect one, and then wait 5 seconds. Then I changed it back to the correct date. Next they had me wait about 2 minutes. When I then tried out the Sirius app it worked fine. I contacted Google because I was having the same issue with my Google podcast app... Now both are working fine but I've only tested this briefly.

Check the battery optimization setting for the app. Make sure the app can use the battery in the background. You might want to remove the battery optimization entirely. Good luck.

I came here to report this too.

Pixel 3a - I had the same problem after taking the Android 11 update... behavior seems consistent with battery optimization. I have turned off optimization for the siriusxm app and so far so good.
update from next day: looks like it is not battery optimization... it's still a problem.
Hoping the Android 11 team and Sirius XM developers can work it out.

Since updating to Android 11, I'm having the same troubles in Sixiusxm app AND ALSO in Spotify and Sonos. It feels like Something about media playback with any non-Google product.

I get about twenty seconds of music on my Siriusxm app and then it cuts out. Google Pilex 4xl. Started happening shorty after the new Android 11 update. Any new developments?

I was having this problem too. I changed the audio streaming to high and it seemed to work for the last hour or so. It was crashing every couple minutes before

I liked how it was in android 10. My apps would stay on the top bar when running. ☹️

Pixel 3XL user. I switched the 'Disable USB audio Routing' in the developer options. Working fine now.

Do you have any other music apps that you run as well? I tried force closing Spotify when I play SiriusXM, and it seems to help.

So I sent them a message saying that I was going to cancel the streaming portion of my subscription due to these issues. So I downgraded to the Mostly Music which doesn't have streaming. I got an email saying that streaming has been added to my Mostly Music subscription, so basically I'm getting it for free now.

Okay I think I have the work around until Sirius fixes the issue. Install Android Auto and use that to listen to everything. Sirius has been running for hours now on my Pixel 4XL and no hiccups

I believe the issue might have been fixed. At least it seems better. The after the mid-November update of the app, I reinstalled it and it seems to be stable if I'm streaming at normal quality. I have not tested further, but it seems not to crash after listening for a couple hours. I'm using a Pixel 4.

So I found info online that fixed this for my pixel 3a phone. I went in the Google app - settings - voice - voice match and disabled "hey google." This 💯 fixed my issues which were with the xm app and other audio apps as well. Hope this works for some of you too.
